Alex Guarnaschelli

Guarnaschelli is the daughter of the cookbook editor Maria and John Guarnaschelli. She graduated in 1991 from Barnard College with an art history degree. In one time, she earned a minimum salary at an American Place in 1991. Guarnaschelli's first culinary experiences began while watching her mother test numerous recipes at home as she edited books. Guarnaschelli's career began under Larry Forgione. Her son Marc Forgione was the Iron Chef. Guarnaschelli later went on to work in various restaurants in France and Los Angeles. Guy Savoy owns La Butte Chaillot. She also worked at Daniel Boulud's eponymous restaurant and Joachim Splichal's Patina before becoming the executive chef of Butter. Before it closed, she served as the executive chef at The Darby. She is chair of the Museum of Food and Drink's Culinary Council. In 2013, Guarnaschelli's first book was released. "Old-School Comfort Food The Way I Learned to cook" incorporates autobiographical elements with favourite recipes of her professional career which she modified for her family home. Alex Alex Alex
